Symptoms: Anemia; dark stools, whitish mucous membranes.
Diagnosis: Fecal examination.
Prevention: Prevention takes place with proper cleaning of the environment where the cat lives, proper cleaning of the animal when it leaves and returns home, filtering the water, and washing fresh food correctly.
Treatment: Through medicine, vermifuge and changes in diet. Only the veterinarian can determine the most appropriate treatment.

chlamydia felis

What is it: A bacteria that causes conjunctivitis in cats and can attack other systems, such as the reproductive system. It can be transmitted to humans, but these are rare cases.

Prevention: Feline leukemia is prevented with vaccination, but the vaccine is not 100% effective. Cats that live in a hygienic environment, and with an adequate diet, become more resistant.
Treatment: Feline leukemia is incurable, but it can be controlled with a balanced diet and care so that the cat does not become infected with any other disease. There are cases in which the cat lives for many years with the disease, and rare cases in which the virus is eliminated.

What is it: Viral disease that attacks the digestive and respiratory systems of cats, and in some cases, the bone marrow. Does not affect humans.

Symptoms: Diarrhoea, vomiting, dehydration, fevers and tenderness in the abdomen. It can be transmitted from mother to kitten, and affected cats are born with malformations or central nervous system problems.

Symptoms: In addition to the traditional foaming at the mouth, symptoms include changes in behavior, spasms, tremors, strabismus, photophobia (aversion to light or bright places) and disorientation.
Diagnosis: It is not possible to make a diagnosis of rabies with a live cat. However, the veterinarian can identify, in the animal, signs of rabies, observing the symptoms.

Treatment: There is no effective treatment for rabies in cats. The vaccine alone successfully prevents rabies from nearly 100%.

Rhinotracheitis (feline flu)
